CASTING STORY: Holly Wiersma told us a very sweet story on how she casted hayden for Factory Girl. She gave me permission to share it with all the Hayden fans through DH.net. VFILM:Arty fare finds its niche-Auds haven't been embracing too many niche pics this season, but they seemed to change their tune and resolve to get in some serious stuff over the New Year's holiday frame. MGM also released a raft of pics for qualifying runs on one screen, including "Factory Girl," "Arthur and the Invisibles" and "The Flying Scotsman." Studio did not report numbers for the single-screen engagements. SOURCE ?

RTINDIE:Suit-Seeking Bob Dylan Isn't the Only One Against "Factory Girl": It's Christensen's character, "Billy Quinn," that has drawn the ire of Dylan and his lawyers; though the name is different, the character bears enough resemblance to the folk legend and implies that their break-up inadvertently led to Sedgwick's demise. EDIE SEDGWICK'S BROTHER:Insists that Bob Dylan broke her heart- "She told me she was totally in love with him . . . she also explained . . . she lost a child which she claims was Bob Dylan's child. She had gotten into an insane asylum, and she was so wacked out on drugs that they aborted her because the child would've been just strung out. FG:Affords more fame to Warhol muse-Coyly unnamed in the film, the famous, scruffy musician who temporarily draws Edie out of the Warhol orbit is clearly based on Dylan. If anything, though, the character, played by a charismatic Hayden Christensen. MORE?

MOVIE SET TRAVEL:FACTORY GIRL:Sienna Miller hit screens on Friday in the much-awaited Edie Sedgwick biopic Factory Girl, with Guy Pearce as Andy Warhol. Already the reviewers have been panning it, but hey, use your time off this week wisely and go enjoy the rest of the cast in this one--everyone and their sister--including MK Olsen, Mena Suvari, Jimmy Fallon, and Hayden Christensen. HAPPY NEW YEAR:I hope everyone had a great New Year's! Mine as fantastic! I wanted to let everyone know that I've made it home safely from LA and was very honored to meet the actual Producer of the film Factory Girl. I told her my honest opinions and suggestions about the film & honestly I LOVED IT!! Everyone in the film did such a wonderful job. At the 2nd showing, a Weinstein represenative told us that Factory Girl will only be playing until Thursday (01-04-07) at the Westside Pavilion Cinemas IN LA. Check out the OFFICIAL SITE. MENTION:Liman and Kinberg are working on New Regency pic Jumper, and Kinberg delayed writing the TV script until just a few months ago, when he and Liman had a break in the production of that film. The plan is now to film the pilot in March, once Jumper wraps. SOURCE.

SANTA BARBARA:The 22nd Santa Barbara Intl. Film Festival has announced its 2007 lineup. George Hickenlooper's "Factory Girl" will open the fest, The 2007 SBIFF will be held from Jan. 25-Feb. 4 and will award more than $100,000 in prizes to feature films from 40 countries, including 22 world premieres and 18 U.S. preems. SOURCE?

SHOOTING INFO: According to the City of Toronto's website & this PDF, Jumper will begin shooting again after taking a break for the holidays and will most likely continue until January 31st.

FACTORY GIRL: Don't forget that tomorrow, Thursday, January 06th, is the last time you will be able to catch Factory Girl in L.A. theaters for the duration of it's limited release. It is currently playing at the Landmark Westside Pavilion in L.A. Check out MOVIEFONE for more info. PLEASE show your support for Hayden and go and see it!!

WEINSTEINS GET MORE DYLAN:The singer-songwriter is already portrayed in one upcoming movie distributed by the Weinsteins -- whether or not anybody involved with Factory Girl admits that Hayden Christensen plays Dylan, the consensus is that it is obviously him. READ ALL?

MENTION:Factory Girl, released in America last week, stars Miller as Sedgwick, the American 'It Girl' and muse of the artist Andy Warhol, a role taken by Guy Pearce. But it is the character of a musician who comes between the two, played by Star Wars actor Hayden Christensen, which has caused controversy as a thinly disguised portrayal of Dylan. SOURCE ?

CINEMA: I would like to thank Yvonne for sending in scans from the January 2007 issue of CINEMA magazine. She was even nice enough to translate each one for us. AWAKE -Opening date: Winter 2007-The direction debut of Joby Harold outlines the highly awkward dilemma of a man (Hayden Christensen), who stays conscious while a complicated heart surgery without the possibility to notify his wife (Jessica Alba). She on the other hand has to fight off extraneous caused threats in order to not ending the day as a widow. What a story! In further parts: Terrence Howard and Lena Olin! FACTORY GIRL-Opening date: December 29, 2006- (USA)-Calling the film location Pittsburgh recently "Shitsburgh" in an interview, rocked the boat for Sienna Miller, American It-Girl in London. Which doesn't lower the curiosity towards this movie about Andy Warhol's beautiful muse Edie Sedgwick at all. In the late sixties the cutie was the shining star in Warhol's New Yorker art commune, the famed factory. Director is George Hickenlooper, who tries finally to substantiate his good reputation as film-maker of documentaries also in feature films. Click the thumbnails to view the larger version.

Sure, tickets to the events are a little expensive — ranging from $37-$1,500 — but having an excuse to break out your best pair of heels and hobnob with real live stars is totally worth it. EDIE SEDGWICK:The life and death of the Sixties star-More than 30 years after her short, tumultuous life ended, Edie is still causing ructions. Last month, Dylan threatened to sue the makers of Factory Girl, a movie starring Sienna Miller as Edie, claiming that he is defamed by Hayden Christensen's portrayal of a singer whose rejection drives her to suicide. This week, Edie's brother claimed that despite Dylan's insistence that he and Edie never had a relationship, she became pregnant with his child and had an abortion. READ ALL ?

HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN (Anakin Skywalker) will be seen in a leading role in the SF-movie Jumper (hits the theaters 2008) which deals with a man who has the ability to teleport. Supported by this gift he tries to find the man who he thinks is responsible for the death of his mother. The story is construed as a trilogy and is based on the novel of the same title by Steven Gould, published in 1981. Also Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu) takes part in this project.

GONE IN 15 MINUTES:A film portrait of the troubled life of Edie Sedgwick is causing as much controversy as she did. These three iconic figures have now been reunited in a film, Factory Girl, directed by George Hickenlooper and starring Sienna Miller as Edie, Hayden Christensen as a Dylan-lookalike folk singer and Guy Pearce as Warhol. We see Edie’s rise to superstardom, then her decline when she falls under the singer’s spell and Warhol punishes her, promoting the Velvet Underground’s Nico to the rank of chief muse. Even though Edie and the singer then split, she is frozen out at Warhol’s HQ, The Factory, and slips messily into heroin addiction. READ ALL ?

When filmmakers decided re-shoots were needed, getting everyone back together proved difficult, due to the principle characters being involved with other projects. WARHOL'S "IT GIRL":One scene that was designed to look like one of Warhol’s famous screen tests — he filmed just about every famous person that visited — involves Sedgwick’s new friend, Billy Quinn (Hayden Christensen), verbally sparring with Warhol. (The fictitious Quinn character is based on Sedgwick associate Bob Dylan.) “We thought of it as an all-handheld Western standoff,” says Grady, referring to the mano a mano nature of the scene. “It was some improv dialogue and mostly improv camerawork. We lit the room with a lot of softboxes overhead and some Pars aimed straight down to burn hot spots.” Some older Mole-Richardson lights served double duty as props and sources. “Those lights looked the same forever, so if you go just one generation back, it looks like lights of that period,” says Grady. “We used those to light Hayden.” READ ALL ?

MAN KILLED ON JUMPER SET:Tragedy has struck the Canadian set of a new movie starring Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen. A 56-year-old man was killed Thursday when a wall on the set of the sci-fi thriller Jumper fell on him. The accident occurred on a soundstage near downtown Toronto just after 2:30 pm. Set decorator David Ritchie was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. READ ALL ?

IN LOVE AND WAR:As the Bob Dylan-like troubadour who sings his way into Sedgwick’s heart, Hayden Christensen is the film’s voice of reason. The singer is the only one to see through Warhol’s pretense, challenging his reality with honesty. CREW MEMBER KILLED ON FILM SET:Set dresser David Ritchie and three of his co-workers were striking a portion of a wall when a large piece of frozen sand and ice broke free from the top of the set," company publicist Karen Pidgurski said. On behalf of the entire production, it is with profound sadness that we confirm this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to David Ritchie's family at this time." Local filming for the movie -- a sci-fi thriller based on a Steven Gould novel -- wrapped up in recent weeks, and the actors are now shooting scenes in Tokyo.
