[Stacy]- The movie was fantastic from beginning to end I have been waiting for this day to come for over 2 months it was so worth the wait Hayden did an awesome job in this movie so did Rachel Bison, Samuel L. Jackson, & Jamie Bell. I enjoyed every single minute of the movie it was sad when it was over I wanted to see it again. I fell more in love with Hayden watching Jumper on that big screen I'm definitely proud to be a fan of his and Jumper made me even more proud. [Paula]- Having read the books and being a resident of Ann Arbor, I saw much of the filming that took place in Feb 07 at Gallop Park and Huron High School, so I've been anxiously awaiting the release of this film! And what a film it is! It has action, it has love, it has a character growing up (David), it has evil (Roland) and great special effects. Even my husband enjoyed the movie and was able to follow the storyline (and hasn't read the books!) Some great story line twists that set Jumper up for a sequel that's for sure. If you haven't yet, go see Jumper you won't be disappointed. [Lauren]- OMG Jumper is one word MINDBLOWING! The trailer shows some but it was something else. i loved it. The locations were amazing, i have to say Rome was my favourite, i loved all the inside shots of the Colossum. That litle part Hayden did inside, was so cute, right before he meets Jamie's character. Loved all of it! I have to agree with maturing up David and Millie, it allowed for stronger emotions for Hayden and Rachel, i had a laugh when Rachel tries to wake Hayden up and she slaps his cheek, and he smiles, and she quickly apolisies. That was too cute. They were really good in the movie and really brought their characters to life The effects were mind blowing. Really out there and incredible. Every bit was incredible and i've been twice now but i have to say, when i went the second time, i picked up on things that i didn't see the first time and understood the story more. There was alot of close ups of Hayden especially when he had scenes with either Rachel, Jamie or Samuel, made me smile to see him that close on the screen. The fight scenes were increible, and must have been alot of work for them, and it shows on screen. I will be seeing this more, cause i love it! Amazing and i suggest anyone who loves a good action, sci fi, romance and a little bit of comedy, jump to a cinema near you and check it out, cause it is worth it! [Kathlene]- A fan of Hayden movies. I went to see it on V-day and I thought it was good so far, meaning there has to be a prequel because it left too many unanwered question about what happen to the characters in the end. Jammie Bell was the one that carry the movie in my opinion not that Hayden character wasn't interesting, but he was more eye candy to me and Rachel Bilson wasn't that good in her character and Samuel Jackson was doing his bad guy role as usual. In all I would give it a C for now to the other movies Hayden has done. [Ashley]- I thought jumper was a very good movie, it had some missing peices near the end but over all it was great. Good job Hay! [Sara]- I saw Jumper today. Loved the story, my only disaapointment was that I felt like it was not long enough. The story was potentially deep, but the fact that it wasn't long enough didn't give me time to really get to know any of the other characters other than Hayden's. The plot was good enough for me to have stayed involved and interested for much longer -- the writers should have capitalized on that. The ending was good because he got the girl, but it definitely left me feeling like there were some loose ends. Maybe they left it open to be answered by a sequel? I hope so -- because if a sequel comes out, I loved this movie enough to check it out. [Nina]- I thought the story line was very unique, simple but unique. Of course Hayden looked so gorgeous in it and his performance was once again awesome. The special effects were so gripping from beginning to end. The duologue was fresh and humorous which I really think kept my interest. Millie and David had good chemistry which made me want to care about their characters. Often though I was annoyed with Millie's clumsy stereotypical actions of the "confused women." I thought Samuel Jackson's character was great because you loved to hate him,you just couldn't help it.It keeps you thoroughly interested all the way through and I was in no way disappointed. All Hayden fans and even people who just like a good action movie should definitely go see it. [Femroc]- I just saw Jumper and thought it was too short. I wanted more of Hayden. And the plot was too uni-directional. It needed more sub plots and twists. The death of his dad was handled in about 2 seconds. Not very convincing. I missed alot because it moved so fast and thought there were some areas of the story that they could have spent more time on for the sake of the story. Hayden looked great and so did Rachel - they were a cute couple. It was a fantasy and nice escape from reality for a while. I'd like to see a sequel, of course. [Nicola]- The movie has clearly been made with sequels to follow in mind. I found the storyline disjointed as a consequence of this. At only an hour & half in duration I felt they could have extended the length of the film to further develop the characters of Griffin , David & Millie. I came out of the cinema with a lot of questions and wanting more which is just how a money making blockbuster should be but I still want enough of a story to capture and hold my attention until a sequel is made. In the final scenes when David leaves Griffin tied in the electricity pylon and finally at the end when David returns to question his mother these scenes moved too quickly and I feel lost some of the intrigue and left me feeling some inadequacy here. I would have liked more history on the jumper/palandins conflict over time which was only touched on in the final scenes. But in conclusion, it was not the movie content I went to see but just to drool over Hayden was enough for me. This guy definitely still has the force but has matured into a more confident, mysterious actor and it is these qualities that will carry this film through many sequels regardless of their content. Even Jamie Bell was extremely watchable. I look forward to more [Linda]- I saw Jumper over the weekend and loved it! Going to see it again today. Hayden was great and looked even better. He is my favorite. I would say the movie was not long enough tho. I would have liked to have more depth into the story of Roland and even more of David's history also. Would love to see a sequel! Thanks Hayden and I think you ARE a good actor. [Cathy]- Just got back from watching Jumper, can't say I'm in love with the critics on this one. Yes it has moments when it falls flat, but overall the effects were fantastic(should keep some fanboys happy). The movie has obviously been set for a hopeful sequel, which I think for the critics was a problem, they just did not get it. Because of that it's left alot of question's. As for the movie itself: Hayden's facial expression was right on the mark, but at times I would have liked to hear a bit more expression in his voice. When he is hanging from the roof was a great performance of how desperate his character was at that moment. Hayden played the "I can do anything I want character" very well, the smirk on his face should have told the critics what the character was saying, and what his motives are. Rachel played the not so quite damsel in distress, but I'm still trying to understand why she did not question more, not her fault as an actresss that's a writers problem. Jamie Bell put in a great performance, as the "I've been here done that Jumper" and Sam J as always plays one mean (insert word here) character. Overall, given that it's made some money with luck Fox will green light a sequel and providing they get the main cast back, I would be more than happy to pay money to watch it and get some answers to a few questions. [Haydey]- First,it's just my own opinion but not professional at all. I can say,the jumping scene did make me a little dizzy.Sometimes it happened very fast.Especially they were fighting and escaping. But this is not a complain.Haha...I think I saw the trailers so many times and knows what will happen with something. But at the cinema I found the other audience expressed so surprise of how they jump and always laugh with some plot.I'm so happy they like the movie. If I have to say something not perfect that would be their love and sex coming too fast. And the scene I like most is the fighting scenes especially the last fight with Samuel. Last,it seems not the ending of the whole story.I think it would be a Jumper II later.I think I guess right.:D [Terri]- Went and saw Jumper on Fri. February 15. I was entertained from beginning to end. It was fabulous and I loved how it leaves us hanging for Jumper 2. Everyone I was with thought it was great. We all agreed that everyone in the movie did a good job and we loved how funny Jamie Bell's character was. We didn't expect Hayden and Jamie to have that "frenemy" thing going on. I hope that continues in the next one. All in all, the movie went by very fast and the effects were amazing. It's worth checking out again, just to catch things that you might have missed the first time! Hayden, of course, is amazing and did a great job. I look forward to all of the films he's doing and of course I highly recommend seeing Jumper and can't wait for Jumper 2!! [John ]- I saw the movie six times here in Suwon, South Korea. I'm an English teacher, and there are not many English movies to watch at the theater, but i was happy they got Jumper. I never read the book so i didn't have any preconceived notions before watching it. I can honestly say that I loved the movie. Don't have anything about the actors/ actresses to say about them personally, but they all did good in making you believe that they were really experiencing the action, and not just acting. Don't listen to "critics" that are professionals. The movie is worth seeing, more than once. I didn't like one of the songs, witha swear word in it, but the movie itself was well worth seeing. It makes you want to go around the world to see some of the sights in the movie. [Deborah]- It started off quickly , everything happened so fast in the beginning of the movie. That made it a bit complicated. After that, the movie became a bit more slower. That was a bit of a downside, at the beginning : too fast and near the end, a bit too slow. I really liked the characters. The action scenes were pretty good too, i really love the scene where Hayden and Jamie fight for the remote thing . Also the sarcastic jokes in the movie made me laugh. That's a thing i liked very much, an action movie with a bit of sarcasm. The end was very good too, it was open, so i can't wait till the next 'Jumper' movie will come out, so i can see what happens, because there are a few questions after you've seen it, and that's really exciting :D [Krystal]- When I first saw the movie, I have to say that it was REALLY GOOD, I HECKA LIKED IT A LOT; Especially, the scenes where David & Roland fights each other when they first meet and towards the end of the movie too where they meet again was one of my favorites. It was also sweet that David cared so much about Millie that he didn't want anything bad to happen to her; especially when he broke into her house to make sure she was ok and that she wasn't killed. I just wish the movie was a little bit longer, but other than that, I give it two thumbs up. AWESOME MOVIE!! Good job to the cast too. [Amber]- I LOVED IT! The best ever, Hayden did an awesome job as the role of David Rice and I couldn't be more happier. The special effects were awesome and being able to watch him do what he did and go anywhere without opening doors or anything was just a blast. It was probably the closest I'll ever get to actually going to those places so it was a lot of fun to see it on the big screen. [Zoe]- I saw Jumper a couple of weeks ago and it had a strange double effect on me: I was blown away by all the visual effects as well as impressed with the (for some actors) subtle acting. The introduction of what jumping is, is nicely done by the flashback into the childhood of David. Doug Liman really takes the time to show how young David has his first Jump and then progresses. The flashback also immediately shows the baseline for the characters of Millie & David (I was pleasantly surprised to see some of Hayden's/ David's behaviour, like lip biting, in the young actor. Nicely done!) and then the story takes us smoothly into the here & now, where David ends up in a war between Jumpers (big shock, there are more of them) and the Paladins that hunt them down (even bigger shock). Hayden & Rachel really have a good chemistry on screen: their love story is very believable. You see them looking at each other, flirting and making jokes: it just all comes together and you know what's coming. Not in a yawn, I've seen this before kind of way but sweet and refreshing. Very cute! The only draw back: I can't believe Millie goes on a holiday with an old friend/ possible lover/classmate who she just met again after 10 years of total silence on his part, especially if he offers to pay for everything. Banking, my ass!! I really enjoyed the character of Jamie Bell and his interaction with Hayden, although Doug Liman could have taken more time to let their relationship evolve. Right now it feels like they were thrown together, had a bit of a rumble and immediately decided to be on the same side for a short while. I just feel there could have been more. But who knows, perhaps in the sequel? Last but not least: Samual L. Jackson! He just does what he does best: play a bad ass (insert curse word). This time with an edge though: the Paladin Ronald isn't all bad, he has his motives and they're not about money, as opposed to those of David. In conclusion: great special effects, good tempo, real characters, good & fun interaction between them & I can't wait for the sequel! [Shelly]- I went to Jumper opening weekend and I thought it was an excellent movie. The story kept me interested and the movie seemed like it went really fast. I think Hayden did an excellent job as always giving it his all. I am looking forward to the next Jumper film. Hayden truly is the best new actor of our time! [PopPrincess]- I saw jumper the day after it came out and loved it!! but i read the book (hayden's now on the cover) and it was totally different. But the only thing i didn't like was the ending.. but overall everyone has to go see jumper!!!! [Rita]- I saw Jumper last Sunday and I think that is a really good movie! The locations are simply wonderful, the plot is simple but interesting and really amazing for the fast rhythm of the events! The characters are good and Hayden playing is simply delightfully amazing and very professional! Good idea the open ending! [Carissa]- I went to see Jumper yesterday with my friends. At first I didn't think it would be a great sci/fi movie as Star Wars did. But it turned out to be amazing and I called it the best sci/fi movie of the year just yet. Jumper is terrific that my friends and I really enjoyed it. I like the whole thing of the movie, the effects, the acting, the understandable plot, and what really makes me wonder is how this movie was shot in different places and different scenes. From the acting, let's start from Hayden himself. He's very in the movie, to be honest, much better than he did in ROTS. His acting before as Anakin in ROTS and AOTC is very stiff. But I'm glad that he appears totally different in Jumper, although Star Wars and Jumper has the same kind of genre. I like his character as David, the way that he's really open minded, brave, and protective on his girlfriend's safety, Millie. Other actors also did great job, except Rachel Bilson. I don't know but maybe Jumper is her first action movie. She's very stiff during the movie. I like her character Millie, though, it's just that she doesn't portray her really well. But since this is her first action movie, I call it not too bad. Samuel L Jackson also did a great job as a villain and so did Jamie Bell. From the storyline, it's understandable. Mostly, action movies have a complicated storyline that audiences find it hard to understand. But Jumper has a clear plot and I guess audiences will be able to understand how the story goes. Most of all is about the effects and the incredible scenes. It really makes me wonder how the movie was shot in different places, different time, and different scenes. I guess Doug Liman really knows how to make a movie about teleporting. Overall, it's really great and amazing. It deserves to be on the top chart in Box Office. Worth to watch! [Ece]- I wouldn't go and see it probably if Hayden wasn't involved. But I had a fun time.I live in a crowded city with a lot to deal with traffic,so it's a nice fantasy to jump all over the world :) Hayden is great in the movie and it ended so quickly. But I loved it. [Lesley]- The photography of the places looks really beautiful. Hayden looks really beautiful. Rachel looks very pretty. Sam Jackson looks very scary, makes a good villian, if a bit two-dimensional. Jamie Bell looks very cute and I liked his character. The special effects were cool. And the critics were right: the plot had more holes than a swiss cheese and I had almost no sense of the characters as people at all (except Jamie Bell's.) Everything Hayden's done since 2005 has been poorly received by the critics, and one film is reputedly so bad that it probably won't be released in this country. Based on this, I would have to say that Hayden is reaching his level of incompetence in film, and perhaps he should carefully consider his next move. However, I could be wrong. 'Jumper' made a pile of money and there will probably be a sequel, so he can cry about being pegged as a one-note actor all the way to the bank. I just hoped for more and greater things from Hayden than for him to be the next Kevin Costner, but without a 'Field of Dreams' or a 'JFK' to look forward to. |
