New York City – February 11th, 2008- Jumper Premiere and After Party Experience

The minute I heard I was invited to the Jumper Premiere and After Party, I was immediately in shock! My heart started pounding and I began jumping up and down. Finding that it was in my most favorite city, New York, and I was going to meet my most favorite actor, Hayden Christensen, needless to say, I was even more ecstatic!!!

As I started gathering my thoughts about what was going to take place, I began to be a little frightened. I realized I’m traveling all by myself to New York City with a limited amount of money and many, many Hayden fans depending on me. I knew I could do it though! So, on the plane rides over I gathered my thoughts and concentrated on what was actually going to happen that night. Finally landing in New York City, I arrived at my hotel and decided to walk around Times Square. As I continued to walk around the cold blistering city, I realized I was lost and had to ask several New Yorker’s where to go. Eventually I found the way back to my hotel and it was time to get ready for the big night.

Around 6:00 PM, I decided to head over to the Ziegfeld Theater. When I exited my taxi, I saw several fans already lined up. I even heard a few Hayden fans call my name and wave. Bit of a shocking moment for me. I made my way over to the VIP tent, gave them my name, and after a little confusion, got my pass and walked the red carpet. I was stopped by large security men and was asked to give them my phone and sign a paper. I continued inside and made my way upstairs to the lobby. I met up with a few awesome Hayden fans and DH.Net visitors and they were so nice! We chatted for awhile and come to the realization that Ben Barnes from the E! Network, was a bit cocky and we all kinda laughed it off!!

As I made my way back to the lobby to go to the bathroom, I actually ran into Pete Michaels. (Bullrun 06) who was looking so good!!:) I also spotted Steven Gould and his wife. I ran into Anna Sophia Robb in the bathroom. Eventually Samuel L. Jackson and his family, Rachel Bilson and her mom came through, along with Jamie Bell. As I waited, I ran into Tove. We hugged and exchanged numbers because Tove got a new phone since the last time I saw him. We chatted for a couple of minutes. Tove commented on how great I looked and he specifically pointed out how much he liked my hair and earrings. So sweet! Hayden’s manager, Jim joined us and he gave me a huge appraisal for the website. I then saw Alie, her brother, his wife, David, Grandma Rose and her husband, Kaylen and a few of her friends all coming up the stairs. They saw me and were happy to see me and glad I made it there safely. I chatted with Alie, Kaylen and the rest of the family for a few moments, still waiting for Hayden to come up and I could feel my heart beating with excitement and nervousness at the same time. Finally, I see him and wait patiently for him. He begins walking towards me and we both instantly smiled and complimented each other. We also hugged and I was lucky enough to get a kiss on part lips and cheek. Hayden and I began making small talk. I remember Hayden telling me I looked amazing! I, of course, gave him the compliment back. He asked me if I had trouble getting in and apologized for the list mix up. I thanked him for everything and he said of course and gave me yet another hug. He said we’ll talk more at the after party and so the movie was about to begin and I was escorted to my seat with the Christensen’s 2 rows behind me. I ran into Doug Liman before the film had started and introduced myself. I then told him I was looking forward to the film and that I love the film GO, including the soundtrack. He looked kinda shocked and was like well thank you very much! :) The movie begins and the audience applauds while the names are shown on the big screen.

90 minutes passes by quickly and it is now time to move onto the Jumper after party. I am hanging with the whole Christensen entourage, while waiting to get my phone and camera back. I waved and said goodbye to the Hayden fans I met earlier. I end up riding in a limo with Kaylen, her friends, Alie, Alie’s brother and wife.
I remember all of us chatting about the movie and Rose saying I remember being on the set the day they did the underwater scene. We all agreed the film was fantastic and everyone did great!

We arrive and both David and I had a hard time getting in. Alie couldn’t believe it and eventually, things got sorted out and we all are allowed in. I remember it being very funky, lots of open space, dark lighted and music blasting. Alie told me to get something to eat and I was like what a great idea. I had hardly eaten anything the entire day. So, I walk over to the food table and everything looks so perfect. I didn’t know whether to dig in or not touch. LOL. As I began getting some food, I believe it was mashed potatoes, I see Teddy Dunn. I couldn’t place him at first and was like where do I know him from?? OH yeah! He was in Jumper!! I didn’t notice him at first because he was a bit thinner and more cleaned up I guess you can say. Very cute though!! We just kinda smirked at each other and I was on my way. I went upstairs for a drink and joined Alie’s brother, his wife, Rose, and her husband. We then made our way over to where Alie, David, Kaylen, Tove, Pete, Rachel, her friends and her Mother Janice were. I talked a bit to everyone. Janice – Rachel’s mom – was SO nice! We talked a lot that night. I remember we chatted about Rachel’s clothes and her style. Janice was actually wearing Rachel’s coat. Rachel saw and hugged me, asked how I was. I said I was doing awesome and I asked how she was doing and what it was like watching herself – if it was weird, since she’s the leading lady. She was like ahhh I dunno, I think I did fine but it is weird watching yourself. Chatted some more and she asked if Hayden had seen me yet. I said yeah at the theater. She said he’ll be back shortly. He was posing for pictures/press. I talked to Pete some more, took pictures, ran into Jamie Bell. He is really short in real-life too. I shook his hand and introduced myself. I also told him he was great in Jumper and asked if he thought there would be another? He’s like nice to meet you too and that he hoped. Very nice guy as well.

Finally Hayden comes over and sees me. He hugs and kisses me on the cheek, asked if I’m having a good time? I said of course, are you? He told me he was tired. He then had to talk to some more people and said he’d be back in a bit. He, Rachel and Sam posed for a few photographers and did a few interviews.

I chatted with Kaylen, Tove, Janice, Alie, Pete for a bit as well. Don’t remember the convos so much, just chit chat. Snapped pictures, drank, chatted. Saw Sam Jackson, introduced myself and asked if me and Kaylen’s friends could snap a picture with him? He said of course and was really nice.

I then went to the little girls’ room to freshen up and when I came back, I was searching in my purse for my camera. I couldn’t find it and was like OH no!

Alie must have noticed there was something not right and asked if I was ok? I said I think my camera was stolen. She was like oh no! Her, Pete, Janice and myself began looking everywhere for it. So, after looking around for like 20 mins and asking the staff if they had found it, no luck! Alie told me she would call the club Monday morning to see if anyone returned it. I was COMPLETELY bummed, since I had my whole New York trip, pictures with others I met at the premiere/party. Alie told me that she would take another picture of Hayden and me. I was like thank you so much. :) When Hayden returned over by all of us, Alie told him what happened and he was like oh no and gave me this big hug and was like I’m sorry about that Jen. I asked for another picture and he was like Absolutely! Alie asked me if I would take one of her and Hayden, then her and Tove. I did and they turned out great!! :) Janice remembered I wanted a picture with Rachel, so she offered to take a picture for me with her Kodak throw away. (she’s so cute).

I spotted Hayden’s dad David and we smiled at each other. I didn’t expect him to even talk to me. Well, he goes so you are the one with the website and what part from my state I was from. We introduced ourselves to each other and he asked what my major is in college. I told him Web design and we chatted a bit about that and where it can lead, etc.

Hayden then came over to talk to his dad for a few moments and then put his arm on my back and we talked for awhile. Some of things we chatted about were of course the website. He thanked me again. I told him thank you for inspiring me and several other of his fans. He said really, I do? I said yeah, you do Hayden.
So many of us look up to you and you inspire us all. So, thank you very much. He smiled and was kinda shocked. Chatted about the fan interview. I asked him if he was going to do this year’s Bullrun? He told me ahhh nooooo most likely no! He told me he was exhausted and wants to take a break after all of this Jumper promo tour. I said go work on your farm some more? He was like OH yeah! We chatted for a bit and then it was close to 12:30am and everyone was ready to go back to their home/hotels. Rachel wasn’t feeling well, so had left and as I was getting my stuff together, I saw Joby Harold talking to Hayden. I was like OMG! (I’m a bit of a Joby fan.)

When he and Hayden ended their conversation, I said Hi there! You’re Joby Harold aren’t you? He said I am. I said, Oh wow! I really, really love Awake. He goes wow, thank you! In a joking way he goes do you wanna be my press agent? I said SURE!! He goes how much do you want? I said hmmmm 10%. He goes you’re hired! I then said Whoo hooo. He goes what’s your name? I said I’m Jen, he held his hand out and we shook hands, introduced himself and his wife. He goes so are you a writer or something like that? I said well no, I actually run a site on Hayden. Joby goes oh really, what’s the name? I said Desiring… he goes ahhh I know that site. No way!! You are not the owner. He looked at me for another minute, and said you really are? I said yes! He goes wow you do such an amazing job. I don’t even go to sites to watch a clip, all I have to do is go on yours and watch it. You are always on top! Congratulations again.

I said thank you so much!! Joby’s wife asked how long I’ve been a Hayden fan? I said since he was on Higher Ground, but I started the site in 2002. They both were like wow!! Well keep up on it. Joby continued on to tell me that he took a picture of he and Hayden at the Awake premiere from my gallery and framed it. We said our goodbyes and I would have taken a picture, but we know that situation. :( I said my goodbye to Hayden, we hugged, kissed on the part lip/cheek. I then hugged and said my goodbye to Kaylen, we snapped a picture of us together. (Which you can see in the gallery) Said bye to Tove, Pete, Alie, Rose, and David. Alie reminded me she’d call Monday morning for me about my camera. I made sure I thanked her and her entire family for everything.

I went back to my hotel room and couldn’t believe what just happened! I then logged on the internet to try and update with the latest news and pictures. Meeting Hayden, riding in a limo with the Christensen’s, chatting with Joby and many other celebs. It was such a fantastic day/night and something I will never, ever forget. I’m a very lucky Hayden fan and I enjoy sharing my experiences with all of you! It’s truly an honor to run this site for him and his fans. I appreciate the support and I hope I can continue to make this your #1 stop for him. I said it before and I will say it again, the site would not be the same without any of you, so thanks again!:)

P.S. I never did get my camera back.
