Charity
We are once again honored to work with the amazing charity Child Find Ontario! Hayden himself has done some charity
work with Child Find including a special screening of Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones! So read on to find out more
about this amazing charity and how you can help!
“A missing child is every parent's worst nightmare. In 2003, over 67,000 cases of missing children were reported to the
Canadian Police Information Centre (CIPC) enough to fill every seat in the Sky Dome.Ontario had the highest portion at more
than 21,000 reported cases. Many are teen runaways, who end up living on the street, cold, hungry and scared. Others are
victims of parental abduction a type of abduction that occurs on average three times a week in Ontario. And while abductions
by strangers account for less then 1% of all cases, these are the most frightening of all. The issue of missing children affects
families from all walks of life and our success is dependent upon a shared responsibility for the search, recovery and prevention
process.
For 20 years, Child Find Ontario, a not for profit organization, has been giving hope and support to families by helping protect
their children and help find if they go missing. Child Find Ontario serves all of Ontario, with programs geared to the protection
of children, the recovery of lost, missing and runaway children, and the education of parents, educators, caregivers and families.
Thanks to our generous supporters, our caring volunteers, collaborative work of the police, media, communities and the Child
Find Ontario staff, we've helped recover over 95% of the missing children registered with our organization. Child Find fulfills a
critical need in our society, building safer communities for all children and helping hundreds of families during a time of crisis.
Education/Prevention and Search/Recovery Programs and Services help reduce the incidence of missing children by developing
awareness of the problem and offering information on the basic issues affecting the safety of children of all ages.
Increased attention to the issue of missing children can help decrease the number of missing children's cases and the goal is to
also increase the rate of recoveries going forward.
Child Find Ontario does not receive operational funding from the government nor are we a United Way agency. Our programs
and services are provided free of charge to families. We rely on the generous support of the private sector including foundations,
corporations, individuals and community groups to achieve our annual operating budget."
